Tik Tok Follower Count Not Updating

Is your Tik Tok follower count not updating? If you think your TikTok follower count is wrong, the cause is probably technical. You may need to update your TikTok app. Simply refresh it or clear your cache. Let’s go through these fixes one by one. But first things first, where can you find your TikTok follower count?

Where To Find Your TikTok Follower Count

You’ll find your TikTok follower count on your profile page beneath your profile picture. When you tap on the Followers button, you’ll see the list of accounts following you. You can also track your follower growth using your TikTok analytics

  1. Go to your profile and tap the menu icon on the upper-right side of your screen.
  2. Select Settings and privacy
  3. Tap Analytics, then select Followers
  4. Select a date range: You can see your follower history for the last seven, 28, or 60 days.
  5. The “Followers” tab will also show your net followers and follower insights, such as gender, age, and location.

Check your analytics on TikTok and compare these numbers and those displayed on your profile to verify the accuracy of your follower count.

If tons of users are hitting your follow button, TikTok might be slow to catch up. This can happen especially if you’re experiencing overnight popularity from a viral video.

Keep in mind that any sudden increase in a video’s popularity and an account’s following may trigger TikTok’s spam alarm. The platform usually reviews such activities to make sure they’re authentic and not generated by bots.

If you purchased followers, but your follower count has not increased, the vendor’s delivery may just be slow or delayed. You can contact the service to follow up on your order. It’s also possible that you’ve been scammed.

If you bought followers, your numbers increased for a while and then dropped. It’s likely that TikTok detected the fake accounts and removed them.

Why Is My TikTok Follower Count Wrong? Follower Count Issues and Possible Fixes

Follower count issues are usually technical. Try the following fixes for your stuck follower count.

  2. Clear your cache: Go to “Settings and privacy,” then scroll all the way down. Under “Cache and cellular,” tap the Free up space option. You can clear your cache, downloads, and drafts to free up space on your phone.
  3. Restart your device and relaunch the app: You can do the first two fixes above before restarting your device and relaunching the app.
  4. Switch your connection from WiFi to mobile data: You can do this and then switch back to WiFi to reboot your phone’s connection to your router.

Getting Your Follower Numbers and Quality Right

If your TikTok videos are gaining popularity and driving views, engagement, and follows, congratulations! You’ve unlocked your formula for accelerated organic growth!

All you have to do is stay consistent to keep generating your desired results. You’ll also need to keep up with trends in your niche and industry and your community’s changing preferences and needs.

Follower numbers are not as important as the quality of your fans on TikTok. Interested followers are often highly engaged. High engagement will give you greater visibility and reach than a high follower count.

If you’re building a presence on a popular video-sharing platform, you must always prioritize proper audience targeting. This is more important than an increase of a vanity metric.

Your TikTok content and targeting strategy must parallel the platform’s algorithmic recommendation process. You need to tailor your strategy to your niche community’s interests, values, and passions on the platform.

You must create content that satisfies their content preferences and know how to optimize your posts. This will help the algorithm identify the right audience for it. On TikTok, audience quality always trumps follower quantity.
